The Open Couple premiere kicked off with a bang
[August,
2002]
Actinghouse Productions debut play "The Open
Couple" kicked of with a bang on Friday 21 June. The St. James
theatre was almost full on premiere night and by Sunday there was
not a spare seat to be found. After the premiere a party was organised
for the guests on the terrace at St. James.
Irene Christ and Jes Camilleri were in fine form and during the second
weekend the theatre remained chock a block. So overwhelming was the
response that Actinghouse Productions has decided to put on another
weekend of "The Open Couple." The dates are set for September
to coincide with St. James's
anniversary weekend - and Malta's Independence Day:
Friday, 20th September at 8pm
Saturday, 21st September at 7.30pm
Sunday 22nd September at 7.30pm
Bookings at St James Cavalier,
tel 21 223200, e-mail: info@sjcav.org
The play is a laugh a minute but it is not only a comedy. As with
every attempt at an open relationship disaster is always lurking behind
the corner.
Actinghouse Productions have asked Frank Hoerner to return to Malta
to direct the next production which is expected to premiere in the
coming months also at St. James. The play will be introduced to
you on this website soon.
