Cornelia Crombholz, Director

Cornelia Crombholz (36) is a German national. She trained and worked as an actress before studying theatrical direction at the prestigious Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. As a director, her name has featured on the credit list of a number of productions popular with theatre audiences in, among others, Vienna (Closed Society by Sartre), Bremerhaven (Bremen Freedom by Fassbinder), Graz (The Bourgeois Gentleman by Moliere), Munich (Clavigo by Goethe; A Crazy Day by Turrini) and Berlin (The Endgame by Beckett; The Fire Raisers by Frisch).

Of her most recent production in Graz, this year’s European Capital of Culture, an Austrian critic wrote: "A brilliant achievement. Graz owes a number of excellent productions to director Cornelia Crombholz, but with her version of Georg Büchner’s Woyzeck she presents her greatest achievement so far." (24.02.2003, Kleine Zeitung)

Fat Men in Skirts marks her directional debut in Malta. In between work commitments, Cornelia Crombholz is based in Berlin.
