Cornelia Crombholz, Director
Cornelia Crombholz (36) is a German national. She trained and worked
as an actress before studying theatrical direction at the prestigious
Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. As a director, her name has featured
on the credit list of a number of productions popular with theatre
audiences in, among others, Vienna (Closed Society by Sartre), Bremerhaven
(Bremen Freedom by Fassbinder), Graz (The Bourgeois Gentleman by
Moliere), Munich (Clavigo by Goethe; A Crazy Day by Turrini) and
Berlin (The Endgame by Beckett; The Fire Raisers by Frisch).
Of her most recent production in Graz, this years European
Capital of Culture, an Austrian critic wrote: "A brilliant
achievement. Graz owes a number of excellent productions to director
Cornelia Crombholz, but with her version of Georg Büchners
Woyzeck she presents her greatest achievement so far." (24.02.2003,

Fat Men in Skirts marks her directional debut in Malta. In between
work commitments, Cornelia Crombholz is based in Berlin.
